Brief History

Thunchathezhuthachan college is promoted, owned and managed by Ezhuthachan Educational Society for Human Resource Development which is registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific Charitable Society Act ( Reg No : 1048/2001 ).

The college is the fulfilment of a long cherished ambition of Ezhuthachan community. The College is situated at Elavanchery,midway between Nemmara and Kollengode on the right side of Thrissur - Govindapuram State highway, Palakkad District

Our college started functioning on 01-10-2003 in the academic year 2003-2004 under the name Thunchan College of Management, Information Technology& Bio- Technology with two high profile courses:- B.Com with Computer Application and B.Sc. Information Technology. Ours is a self financing Arts & Science college affiliated to the University of Calicut and approved by Govt. of Kerala. The name of the college was changed to THUNCHATH EZHUTHACHAN COLLEGE during 2005-2006.Currently the College offers seven UG courses B.A. Malayalam (Language and Literature with journalism ),B.A. English (Language and Literature with journalism) ,B.Com (Computer Application),B.Com (Co- Operation),BBA(Human Resource Management),B.Sc. Computer Science , B.Sc. Information Technology

The College was elevated to the status of PG institution in 2012, with the introduction of M.Com and M.Sc. Information Technology followed by M.Sc. Computer Science in 2014.

Our aim is to provide high quality job oriented higher education and training programmes, research and consultancy services. We visualize a bright and challenging career for our youngsters.

V.R.KrishnanEzhuthachan Law College, a sister concern of ours, is also functioning in the adjacent campus. The college offers five year integrated BBA LLB (Hons.) programme with an intake of 60 students. This institution is the first self financing Law College in Palakkad District affiliated to University of Calicut sanctionedby Govt. of Kerala and approved by Bar Council of India.
